In 2003, some friends were visiting my home in Santa Fe, NM. We had plans to all go out the next day but when I awoke that morning, I wasn’t feeling quite right. I told my friends “you go ahead. I’m feeling odd, and I’m going to stay in bed for a while.” It was highly unlike me to laze around in bed. My friends took off on their jaunt downtown, and I continued resting. At least I thought I was resting.
What happened to me was one of the strangest experiences of my life. It seemed there was no “me.” In order to speak to share this story I have to use “I” but in the experience there was no Lynn, no “I”. In fact, there was no “Lynn body” with physical limitations or skin boundaries, just knowingness, or you could say infinite conscious awareness. “I” was the glistening light! The only thing I saw, for what turned out to be over six hours, was pure white sparkling light. It looked like freshly fallen snow glistening in the bright moonlight. But the sparkling light was It — All that Is.
The entire time I saw the “white light” I only had two thoughts. One, “I’m not breathing, and I don’t have to.” And two, “If this is death, it is glorious.”
My friends returned late in the afternoon and said “we popped in to check on you a couple of times. We thought you were dead because you didn’t seem to be breathing, but since you had changed positions each time, we didn’t worry.”
If anyone has had a similar experience, I would love to hear about it.

Dear Lynn, I am displeased with myself for delaying to read your new website. It was inspiring and comforting to me at 91! I can’t wait to see the “rest of the story” to now. Your near and loving neighbor, Nita
